Chaise Lounge

Chaise Lounge is what happens when you combine the sultry, smoky sounds of classic early 1960s lounge music with pop-inflected R&B grooves, with the red hot and cool energy of six accomplished jazz musicians who just want to have fun.
Prominently featured on the band’s recent “Second Hand Smoke” recording on Big Kahuna Records, lead singer Marilyn Older’s soft and luminous vocals are captivating – making her the emerging “Norah Jones” of film noir-ish, Stan Getz era, cool jazz.
Chaise Lounge has recently appeared in the famed Studio 4A on National Public Radio’s Weekend Edition, the Kennedy Center, and Washington D.C.’s famed Blues Alley jazz club – all warming up for a “Music to Dress Up To” tour that is bringing their uniquely post-modern and musically-sophisticated “martini bar jazz” to an ever growing audience of adoring fans.
“An expertly produced combination of originals and standards…, that straddles the line between cool blue and red hot. Superbly tight without sounding stilted, Older’s vocals tie together the package with a nice big ribbon.”Washington Post
